Bursa will witness a historical moment at the ASE 2023 Congress (XXXIV. Planetary Congress), hosted by GUHEM, where astronauts, cosmonauts, and taikonauts from all over the world will participate to inspire space enthusiasts and ensure space capacity.

Canadian female astronaut Julie Payette is a well-known name in Turkey after she sent the photos she took from space to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife, Emine Erdoğan, by letter.

WHO IS JULIE PAYETTE?
53-year-old Montreal-born Julie Payette, known in her country as an astronaut, also has titles such as computer engineer, scientific media publisher, and corporate director.
Payette, who can speak and write 6 different languages fluently, worked as an astronaut at NASA on behalf of the Canadian Space Agency from 1992 to 2013 and went into space twice during this period.
Payette, who served for years as CAPCOM (Capsule Communicator) at the NASA Mission Control Center in Houston, Texas, served as an academician at the Woodrow Wilson International Science Center in Washington DC between 2011 and 2013.
Julie Payette, who also served as CEO of the Montreal Science Center from 2013 to 2016, produced several scientific research programs on CBC Radio-Canada.
Payette, who currently serves as a Member of the Engineering Advisory Board at McGill University in Montreal, has worked in organizations such as the Montreal Science Center Foundation, Robotique FIRST Quebec, and Drug-Free Kids Canada. Payette is also a member of the International Olympic Committee Women's Sports Commission.
